Check the official NCERT website (ncert.nic.in) under “Vacancies / Non-Academic Staff” for the exact advertisement PDF.

Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria before attending.

Key Points & Tips

Because there are only 39 posts, competition will be moderate to high — ensure your experience and qualification match the “Assistant Editor” or “Proof Reader” role.

For Assistant Editor role: Highlight any editorial experience (textbooks, publications), knowledge of printing/typography and proficiency in relevant language(s).

For Proof Reader: Demonstrable proof-reading/editing experience in publishing; strong command over language (English/Hindi/Urdu).

Bring a neatly compiled CV/resume, copies of all certificates and experience letters, proof of age, and any published work if applicable.

Ensure you are within the age limit (max ~45 years) and check whether any age-relaxation applies for reserved categories.

Read the full notification to check contract duration, whether travel allowance is provided for attending, and if there are any special conditions (e.g., probation, bond).

Keep a watch for any updates or corrigendum on the NCERT website.
