Age Range: 17.5 to 21 years (born roughly between July 2, 2005, and January 2, 2009)
Education:
10+2 pass with Physics, Mathematics & English (≥50%)
OR a 2–3 year vocational diploma in PCM subjects
Marital Status: Must be unmarried for the 4-year contract term
Vacancy & Remuneration
Vacancies: Approximately 2,500 for Intake 02/2026
Remuneration: As per Agnipath Scheme guidelines (~₹30,000–40,000 monthly, plus allowances and post-service benefits)
Selection Process
Online Test – Computer-Based (CBT), starting September 25, 2025
Physical Fitness & Adaptability Tests – includes tasks like running, push-ups etc.
Medical Examination
Merit List & Enrollment based on combined performance across all stages
Application Procedure
Visit agnipathvayu.cdac.in or the IAF portal
Create an account and fill in personal, educational, and contact information
Upload:
10th/12th or Diploma certificates
Photograph, signature, thumb impression
Relevant ID proofs (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)
Pay ₹550 + GST application fee online
Submit before July 31, 2025
Agnipath Scheme Overview
Tenure: 4 years (6 months training + 3.5 years service)
Post-service: Up to 25% may be retained for further service; others receive a lump sum payout (~₹11.7 lakh) and a skill certificate
Insurance cover: Provided during contract
Important Considerations
No pledge to marry: Candidates must not marry during their 4-year tenure
Post-service career: Certificate and financial benefit support future job opportunities
Women included: Recent batches include significant female and airwomen Agniveers
