Eligibility Criteria
For Scientist-D (Direct Recruitment):
Essential: Master’s degree from a recognized university/institute in any discipline specified in “Schedule I”; OR Bachelor’s degree (minimum four years) from recognized university/institute in any discipline specified in “Schedule II”.
Plus: 8 years’ experience in Research & Development in industry or academic institution or science & technology organisation.
Desirable: Doctorate in a relevant discipline (Schedule I) or Master’s in Schedule II disciplines.
Age limit: Upper age limit for direct recruitment shall not exceed 40 years for Scientist-D.
For deputation mode: Age limit 56 years.
For Scientist-C (Direct Recruitment):
Essential: Master’s degree in Schedule I disciplines OR Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Schedule II disciplines.
Plus: 4 years’ experience in R&D in industry or academic institution or science & technology organisation.
Desirable: Doctorate or Master’s degree in specified disciplines.
Age limit: Upper age limit for direct recruitment shall not exceed 35 years for Scientist-C.
Application & Important Dates
Applications must be in the prescribed format (Annexure I for Scientist-D, Annexure II for Scientist-C).
Candidates employed in Govt/PSU/Autonomous/University must apply through proper channel and provide NOC, vigilance clearance, APARs for last 5 years, etc.
Last date: The advertisement says applications to be submitted within 45 days of the publication in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar for most areas; 60 days for certain remote/NE regions.

Selection Process & Other Notes
Shortlisting: Applications will be screened by a Committee; only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.

A panel of recommended candidates will be maintained for up to 12 months to fill vacancies arising during that period.
Selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India.
