Eligibility Criteria0Educational Qualification:
B.E./B.Tech degree in relevant engineering stream from a recognised university/institute.
Final-year engineering students may be eligible (subject to producing degree certificates by the specified date in the notification).
Gender & Marital Status:
Only unmarried female candidates are eligible for the main 29 posts.
Widows of defence personnel may apply for the widows’ posts (subject to conditions in the notification).
Age Limit (as on 01 Oct 2026):
20 – 27 years for SSC Tech Women (born between approx. 02 Oct 1999 and 01 Oct 2006).
Up to 35 years for widows’ posts (as per rules).
Selection Process
The selection is typically through:
Shortlisting of applications (based on eligibility and marks)
SSB Interview (5-day procedure)
Medical Examination
Final Merit & Joining
(This entry does not involve a written exam — selection is via SSB + medical.)
Pay & Career
On selection, candidates are commissioned as Lieutenant in the Indian Army.
Pay Level 10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500) (plus allowances as per Indian Army pay rules).
