Eligibility Criteria
Educational Requirements
Undergraduate (UG):
Must be final-year (IV Year) B.E./B.Tech full-time student in a relevant discipline.
Postgraduate (PG):
Must be 2nd year M.E./M.Tech or M.Sc full-time student in relevant fields.
Disciplines: CS/AI/IT/ISE, ECE/EIE, Physics, Mathematics/Statistics related to respective internship slots.
Academic Performance
Minimum 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) from an AICTE/UGC-approved institute.
No backlogs allowed (students with active failed subjects are not eligible).
Must be a Citizen of India. Implied by DRDO internship norms for paid internships — confirm in official notification.
No Objection Certificate (NOC)
A NOC from college principal/HOD/TPO (as per notification annexure) is usually required stating that you will be relieved for the internship
Stipend / Benefits
Monthly Stipend: ₹15,000 (paid only when the intern is present at the lab for at least 15 working days/month).
Typically, stipend is paid in two equal installments — after 3 months and after 6 months completion.
Interns gain hands-on research experience at a DRDO lab, mentorship from scientists, and a certificate of completion.
Other expenses (lodging, boarding, transport, medical, etc.) are to be borne by the intern.
