Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Unmarried Indian male candidates only
Age: Born between 1 January 2005 and 1 July 2008 (inclusive)
Education:
10+2 with Physics, Mathematics & English (50% aggregate and 50% in English), OR
3-year Engineering Diploma in relevant branches, OR
Two-year vocational course with required sports eligibility (all with ≥50% and 50% in English)
Sports Qualification: Must meet the criteria of representing at recognized national or international levels (e.g., junior/senior national, Khelo India, BCCI, AIIU, etc.) per the Air Force norms (specifics vary by discipline)
Selection Process
Online screening & eligibility check
Physical Fitness Test (PFT): standard Air Force norms for run, push-ups, etc.
Sports Skill Trials: judged by IAF assessors
Document Verification
Medical Examination meeting Agniveer health standards (height, chest, vision, hearing, dental)
Benefits & Service Terms
Service Duration: 4 years under the Agnipath Scheme
Monthly Salary: ₹30,000 in first year, rising to ₹40,000 in the fourth year + risk, dress, travel allowances, medical support & LTC as per norms
Seva Nidhi Scheme: Lump‑sum contribution-based payout at end of service (~₹5‑10 lakh)
Insurance Cover: Up to ₹48 lakh coverage for service period
