The Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs (DSYA) under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration has issued a notification (dated July 2025) inviting applications for 6 contractual positions dedicated to former champion athletes. These roles are part of the Khelo India initiative, aimed at nurturing future sporting talent in the Union Territory’s key training centres.

A total of 6 positions are available, allocated as follows:
North & Middle Andaman (Vivekananda Stadium, Diglipur) – Archery: 1 post
North & Middle Andaman (Forest Ground, Baratang) – Hockey: 1
Nicobar (Campbell Bay Mini Stadium) – Football: 1
Nicobar (Indira Park, Kamorta) – Volleyball: 1
Nicobar (BJR Stadium, Car Nicobar) – Badminton: 1
South Andaman (Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram) – Athletics: 1
Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum educational qualification: Higher Secondary (12th pass) in any stream.
Sporting credentials: Applicants must be former national or state-level champions (as per Khelo India guidelines), giving preference to athletes who have represented India.
Age Limit
Applicants should not be older than 40 years as of the closing date (31 July 2025), with relaxations permitted in exceptional cases.

Application period: 17 July – 31 July 2025, up to 5:00 PM
Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be summoned for interview after the deadline.
Remuneration & Tenure
The positions are purely contractual, carrying a consolidated monthly honorarium of ₹25,000.
Tenure: 1 year, in alignment with the annual Khelo India programme cycle.
Role & Responsibilities
Design and implement sport-specific training programmes for at least 30 trainee athletes per centre.
Identify and develop talent to achieve excellence in each sport.
Leverage personal expertise to inspire and mentor trainees towards competitive levels.
